I’m interested in knowing how the human mind is able to access and combine the information present in our environment throughout the different sensory modalities. Particularly, I study those interactions taking place as a result of cross-modal interplay, trying to broaden the knowledge about the mechanisms underlying such processes. Currently I’m orienting my PhD to study the implications of the different functional and neurophysiological particularities of the visual system for multisensory integration.

Main areas of interest:

  • Auditory-induced alterations in visual processing.
  • Cue combination mechanisms.
  • Disentangling decisional from sensory level explanations in cross-modal detection enhancements.
  • Mechanisms in audio-visual temporal calibration.
  • Psychophysics
